I think this is what we will see when we go see Jane again. |
We had a fabulous time. We stayed in Minneapolis and came home on Saturday.
We were able to have supper with some very good friends and we met for church on Sunday.
This is a dress that belonged to Betsy and Jane. Both Mazie and Emma have worn it and it was noted that I allowed our daughters to wear very short dresses. |
With Andy doing one of his rotations in Grand Forks, he was off on Monday very early...we didn't get up to say good bye! I know, terrible in-laws.
Emma was scheduled to be off for the rest of the week to play with us. We were able to have a vehicle so we thought that there would be fun times ahead. Then...like many times when we come to visit...Emma started with a temperature and didn't feel great so our plans changed to cuddle and snuggle and play...oh...it was tough but we were able to force ourselves to enjoy the cuddle time.
We were able to go around the block and enjoy the nice cold air. Emma LOVES to be outside. |
Every stuffed animal did have to try out the bed. We didn't build it with a built-in bedside table, but obviously, it has one. |
Big girl bed was a great adventure... both THEN and NOW.... |
And what Nana and Poppa wouldn't get excited to see the tiger, knowing that there was a reason why he showed up!! |
We played a game and Emma loved the idea of the game. By the 3rd or 4th time, she was catching on to the variation that we made up!!! Have NO idea what the real game would play like. |
Poppa read to Emma and Monkey, and Oliver... and many other stuffed animals that would fit on their laps. |
A trip to IKEA is always an adventure...a tent over a bed... Way cool...or as Gramma Lynn taught Emma "Cool, Cool, Cool" |
Okay, so now the confessions begin...In case you wonder... Emma really is the center of our world when she is around. That does present some problems.... |
!
THAT LOOK~!!!! The one that melts a poppa and nana's heart! |
THAT is the look that got us in trouble!
Nana, will you hold my hand until I go to sleep? THAT LOOK!
Nana, can I have another cookie? THAT LOOK!
Poppa, will you read me another story? THAT LOOK!
Nana, I know I have been in bed and it is bedtime and it looks like I am stalling, but I
really have to go potty...? THAT LOOK!
THAT LOOK works on Nana and Poppa. The problem came...when THAT LOOK really didn't cut it when we left!!!
Okay, Jane said...at 8:30 she also loves THAT LOOK...at 12:38 AM, maybe THAT LOOK just doesn't make it.
We had a great time. We loved visiting this family in January, in North Dakota. Our trip back to Seattle may just make another post.
God had blessed us this holiday season with visits from our most precious treasures. AND we have plans for the next time we see each other. AMEN
